Summary of discussions
List of invitees
- Nadine has already sent invitations to directors general of CGIAR centres
- Nadine is coordinating all invites (letter & email). We had set a deadline of 31 July for sending out of invites; need to find out Nadine's schedule for sending the invites and deadlines for receiving responses
- Re: Susan's suggested additional invites (~25 pax), we will consider inviting only key people who "need' to attend; we will send these invites later after receiving responses from those already on the list
Roundtable panelists
- Three panelists confirmed availability and interest so far (NGO representative from SNV, private-sector representative from New KCC, and research/capacity development from ASARECA)
- We now only need a government representative so that we have a panel of four [targeting the agriculture minister in Senegal, Papa Seck, but waiting to hear if Ibrahim Mayaki is available for keynote speaker; if not then we may approach Papa Seck to be the keynote speaker then look for an alternative government representative]
- After we have formally invited the panel members, we need to connect them with Ed Rege
Keynote speaker Need feedback from Nadine as to Ibrahim Mayaki's availability.
Budget
- Muthoni to give Kate the information needed so the draft consolidated budget can be finalized tomorrow
- Kate to send Joyce the draft budget before next week Thursday
- Need to factor in possible work around the campus, e.g. ILRI@40 signage (Muthoni). Likely location of tent will be the football pitch; Anthony, James and Patrick to review requirements and give Kate information on related budget items.
- Muthoni to provide budget for media coverage
Rapporteurs
- Will be handled internally; Tezira has already volunteered.
- We need more ILRI comms staff to assist; Muthoni to coordinate
Afternoon campus tours
- Shirley sent email to DDG; Iain sent it to program leaders in Integrated Sciences. Not sure if communication has been sent to Biosciences program leaders
- Timeline: target the beginning of September once everyone is back from leave
- Jo, Henry and Ethel to meet soon and decide on a one-page guideline of suggested tour sessions and share this with both DDGs

- Nadine to proceed and formally invite the three panelists who have expressed interest and availability: Kipkirui Lang'at (New KCC), Langat Kipkoech (SNV) and Fina Opio (ASARECA)
- Tezira to set up shared Google Doc for the team to create a list of ILRI@40 signage needed
